i have an armstrong and i have the same problem

i basically say that all u have to do is practice blowing with the whole fute a normal b a or g. the flute has three main holding points -the headjoint=the lips -below the b key -finally your thumb under the f key you should be able to hold it only with these points and no fingers i used to practice...

twelve eights mean that there are twelve beats as u say in the bar though the number at the bottom means how the beats are....ie 4/4 is 4 crotchet beats 3/2 three minim bets 12/8 means twelve quaver beats like 9/8 and so on......... the bottom number indicates the beats 2=minim 4=crotchet 8=quaver h...

i''ve been playing for a while now and one thing that really intregues me is weather to play a b flat with the "F key " or the other back whole i''ve always been told to use the long one and i prefer the sound too of this one. but my quetion is .... why does the other one exist and do what do profes...

thanx very much for the help. and yes i also think
that music stays for ever. my teacher says i've got natural spirit because i
could play the first day. i hope i dont loose it![:)] but yes i love it so much

i am a student but my teacher can only see me
once every friday and for only 30 to 40 mins is that enough???[:bigsmile:] i am
bigginer though i practise by my self a lot since i know how to read music from

something??? i'm 14 and after having a recorder abrsm examination my teacher
said he wanted me playing a flute and so i did! i tarted last month and i'm
really enjoying it![:bigsmile:]
