I'm sure you know all this but just in case: The EC headjoint is Yamaha's most popular and well known headjoint, played by many professional flutists all o...

Yep! I think she's still trying to figure out if you can still audition for Patel's Youth Orchestras since she's in Junior Philharmonic [I made Youth Symphony but I'm a new member with Patel too so I have no idea how everything works...with late auditions and all.] I'll ask around with the veteran f...

Sinebar, there is no such thing as "a headjoint for beginners or a headjoint for professionals." We choose our own headjoints depending on what we hope to achieve and what we want or need as musicians. And I agree with Phineas - for the price of the EC, it's not worth it. [Yamaha headjoints are all ...

Well I'm guessing if the person changed the headjoints and it's still a Yamaha headjoint then the model is stamped on the headjoint. My headjoint says EC on it. But since you already found that you like the 481 I wouldn't be too bothered witht hat headjoint model is, just the fact that you loved it!...

I agree with Phineas. I just got my Yamaha 600 series and it comes with the EC headjoint. Before the flute, I played a Gemeinhardt 2SP witht he J1 headjoint that simply did whatever I wanted it to. It's taking longer to adjust to the EC headjoint than I tohught it would but I absolutely love the hea...
