Ads

Post by fluteguy18 »

So.... I guess everyone is seeing the new ads at the top of their screen? I don't know about you, but I find them to be very annoying, and a great reason to quit coming here.

Hi, thanks for your sincere comment.

We were wondering whether to try ads out and decided to give it a try but we dislike it very much as well, especially since a lot of the banners do not seem to be music-related. Do you think the small text links on top are too intrusive as well (we removed the banner as we were leaning to doing so anyways)?

Many thanks,

Hi,

I guess I was a bit blunt wasn't I...

Anyway. The small text links are a lot better than the big banner. I still don't like them, but I can get used to them since they are on a lot of other websites I visit. It's just a change. ::shrug::

If it helps pay the bills, do what you have to.

I'll second fluteguy18's sentiment. I'm not fond of them, but it does seem to be the way a lot of websites help to finance their operation.

To me, they're a lot more palatable if they are unobtrusive and don't force the reader to scroll a half page before reaching the actual page content.

Frankly though, I'm a lot more offended by the spammers posting ads as messages within the forum.
