finding an estimated value

I have a Haynes flute that was handed down to me by my mother. Her father bought it from a pawn shop in 1943. She played it for all of her high school years as did I. It had pads put on it last in 1973 by a professor at the University of Washington. He let us know that he thought it was an original handmade version and may be of some value. Can anyone tell me a procedure of who I would contact to get an estimated value and verify if it is/ or is not hand made by Haynes himself?

Contact Haynes and give them the serial number of your flute. They should be able to tell you everything about it.
