Adding a Signature?
HI! This is my first time posting on fluteland, and I am trying to figure out how to add a signature. I read the FAQ on it, but it does not explain where in the user control panel I am supposed to go. Thanks for any help!

Re: Adding a Signature?
New members are moderated and are slightly restricted in forum permissions to help eliminate spammers. I believe that signatures are not allowed until you have posted several messages that are not spam. After you have met this criteria, your forum status will change to allow you to add a signature.
To add a signature, go to the user control panel, select the Profile tab, and then the Edit Signature option.

Re: Adding a Signature?
I was looking for this as well.
I appreciate that you are trying to prevent spamming, but it's hard to "settle into" the community if you're met with suspicion and not allowed to make your own identiy.

I think its 3 posts, then you're a full member.
We had no choice, in recent years, we had hundreds of spam posts a day.
It's brought the forum to a standstill several times.
Welcome and hope to hear more about indigenous Japanese music.

Re: Adding a Signature?
So, how long after making three approved posts are we allowed to be accepted members of the forum? I would send a private message asking this, but, of course, . . .
Re: Adding a Signature?
Midlife Flutist, it happens automatically, no waiting that I'm aware of
Looks like you have 4 posts, do you have full access?

Re: Adding a Signature?
There is no "edit signature" option in my user control panel.
Also, "The avatar functionality is currently disabled." and "You are not authorised to read private messages."
And if I don't immediately edit this last line, I still have to wait for approval before my posts are added to the board.

Re: Adding a Signature?
Thanks for hanging in, with 5 posts you should have full access.
Moderators don't have options to change the board settings, but if you are still having problems we can get the Admin to help
Thanks for your patience

Re: Adding a Signature?
Well, that probably answers something I was going to ask. I couldn't find a way of adding my location. But, I think a spam-free board is better than a bit of inconvenience for us noobs.

What is the main reason? the most of the sites are a block or remove after add signature.

Re: Adding a Signature?
New users are not allowed signatures because of spammers who only want to use the signature to advertise other web sites. This forum does not allow links to unrelated sites in signatures. Anyone who violates this will be deleted.
If you are a genuine flutist, you must show this by your relevant participation in the forum. If your participation shows that you are a flutist, signatures are allowed after some number of approved posts. The site moderators are very good at spotting fakes who only want to advertise and quickly removing them.
Why are you so fixated on having a signature?
