solo suggestions

Post by MissyHPhoenix »

Don't know if any body can help but .... I tend to like solo pieces that are unique, not the ones you hear everybody play. My two favorites that I've done in my last two recitals are "hysterical penguins" and " ... and the strange unknown flowers". Both have lots of color and emotion. Also love most of katherine hoover pieces.

I'm looking for more of these unique solos. And suggestions?

How about the "Charanga" for solo flute by Michael Colquhoun?
"Never give a flute player a screwdriver."

Hmm ... just listened to it. I prefer solos that have a distinct melody line, but thanks for the suggestion!

Have you ever listened to "Night Soliloquy" or "Poem for flute and piano"
