College Band Auditions

Post by RenzowithdaBenzo »

So I'll be a freshmen in college this coming school year and i'll be auditioning for concert band. I won't be majoring or minoring in music, but I still want to try and see what happens. Part of the audition is an excerpt from an etude or solo work. Does anyone know any piece that is generally favored. I don't want to go into the audition playing something too easy or too difficult. I know this is bit objective but I just wondering what appropriate repetition would you guys recommend for a college audition? Any suggestions or advice is appreciated.
