Noise reduction

Hi everyone! I´m overhauling my old Yamaha flute and I've noticed that the adjustment screws makes a lot of metal to metal noise.

I know that newer Yamahas (I don't know if other brands) have very thin layers of a material that is glued into the adjustment screw and it absorbs the impact of metal to metal.

Can any of you give me some information about it? (material, thickness, etc) I would like to make it my own if possible.

There are quite a lot of options. I'd use your discretion here. Cork, suede, leather, felt, teflon, paper, many varieties of synthetic fabrics... It's all subjective.

Though if you don't have any experience in repair, or very little, I wouldn't advise attempting this work on your own.

fluteguy18 Thanks for your response. I have experience in overhauling flutes, so there's no problem on attempting those materials.

The fact is that I've seen those thin layers on both Yamaha and Muramatsu flutes. It looked like silicone or something like that. Just was looking for somebody to know about what these brands use for it.
