Yamaha advantage 200ad footjoint question and repair

When I hold down the d# lever it also presses and holds down the c# lever. I have taken the keys off and put back on and there seems to be no way to adjust it. Nothing appears to be bent whatsoever. Why is it doing this, and how can I fix it?!?

Most likely, the D# key is pressing against the C# and pushing it down. Otherwise, the steel hinge rod may be slightly bent or rusted causing them to move together. Your best bet is to take it to a flute repair shop and have it checked. It should be a fairly simple repair.

Yes it is definitely pressing against the key. I can’t figure out why. I am hoping to fix it without bringing it in

If the keys are touching, one of them is bent and needs to be straightened. Do not try to fix it with ordinary pliers or screwdriver. As a repair tech, some of the worst damage I see to musical instruments is caused by do-it-yourselfers. If you try to fix it yourself without knowing which one is the problem, you risk bending the wrong key, tearing a pad, bending a hinge rod, or otherwise making things worse. Also, key repairs require specialized skills and tools that you are not likely to have available to you.
