Adjusting Strauginger pads

Hello.

I recently got a used Powell Signature flute of which pads have been replaced with Straubinger's. I know Straubinger pads don't prove their merits with machine-made flutes, but it seems that the installation was no good, so some pads are leaky. Is it adjustable with shimming? Or does it need reinstallation?

It depends on the original installation, however, if the prep was done well, they can be adjusted if they are in good shape..

Thanks for your comment. I brought the Signature to an atelier last week, then the pads and the key balance were adjusted, now the flute rings fine.
