F key not working properly...is there an easy solution?

Post by Inkbottles »

Hello, this is my first post here and I don't know much about flutes so please excuse my ignorance. My flute has a small problem: when I press the F key, it doesn't close the other key which moves with it fully, making it difficult to produce the F note. (I mean the key below the G key.) The problem goes away temporarily if I screw the key more tightly, but then the next day the problem returns. I don't think the screw is getting loose. It looks like where I put it the day before, but the key becomes loose nonetheless. I hope it's reasonably clear what I mean. Is there a way to fix it at home or do I need to go and see a professional? Thanks a lot, Steve.

Since you have already tried the adjustment screw, it's probably time to visit your local flute tech for professional fix.
