Is this correct? New flautist

Post by Eglassford »

I just got my first flute in the mail. I’m looking over all of the keys, and a pad is missing? But there isn’t a hole for air, yet their is a key? Please tell me I’m psyching myself out and this is correct??? Excuse my little knowledge, it’s my first day with a flute.

In the photo below, the circled "key" is a touchpiece. It has no pad because it closes the key/pad pointed to by the arrow in the photo. All is well.
