Pad cleaning paper under closed keys when not playing?

Post by fluteplay2014 »

I'm wondering if it's OK to put pad cleaning paper under closed keys (D#, G#, and trill keys) when not playing?

This seems to keep those pads from excess moisture after swabbing the flute.

Seems like overkill to me and there is always a chance that part of the paper could dry to the pad creating a small leak.

There's no need to do that. You'll only be creating leaks.
