Pearl flute hex key

Post by HMannfan »

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know what size hex (Allen) key is needed to dismantle the trill key assembly on a Pearl PF-601 flute? I bought one from J.L.Smith that was supposed to fit, but it is too large. I don't know what size the one I bought from Smith is, so I can't help with that info except that it measures .050" (1.27mm) across the flats which according to ISO 2936:2001 is 1.3mm nominal. I'm guessing I need something about 1mm.

Any help is appreciated.

Mark

My apologies to J.L.Smith. I found the key in another flute tool box. It is a size .9mm and works perfectly. Sorry.

You'll need a 0.9mm (.035") allen for all Pearls Pearl sells the Bondhaus 0.89mm but the 0.9mm works fine. Just depends on whether you want a long or short arm.
