Exchanging headjoints

Im curious if anyone has tryed using a japanese
shakuhachi headjoint on their flute.I have made shakuhachis and like the blusey
sound they have when tuned to a western scale .But because of a shortage of
bamboo where i live I am considering buying a Shakuhachi head joint from another
maker.I would like to know if the expense would be worth it Or if it would be
better to keep the to styles seperate.I apreciate any imput .God bless.[:)]

Shakuhachi. In my improvisations, I will sometimes use some of the effects that
naturally come out of the Shakuhachi. Best of luck.

Thanx Damjan, that is exactly what im looking
for.They are abit pricey though so i got to think about it.I am thinking about
experimenting with extended techniques to get the sound I want.I'm Quite
intrigued by the fact you can get that kindof effect using a transverse head
joint.Thanx Damjan I think you got me looking in a better Direction.Have a happy
