Hi everybody. I have a quick question. When my lips get dried, I cannot make a clean sound. It becomes very airy. Is it normal, and I should find the way to avoid dry lips? Or it is becouse something wrong with the way I play? My lips get dried especially when I practice for long time.
Any advice would be appreciated.

I think you have answered your own question. I just keep a water bottle near by when I play. This keeps me hydrated. Here is another suggestion.Chel wrote:Hi everybody. I have a quick question. I do not care for this product, but some players swear by it.
What you are experiencing is normal. However, since I am not a "legit"(Classical) player, I am sure someone else on the board will chime and and give you other suggestions.

I have the same problem!
I thought maybe it was my mouthpiece! It's getting really aggravating. I am getting a very airy sound when my lips get dry. Then the inside of my flute becomes moist and it sounds bad. I don't recall having this issue years ago, I think it might be my flute! Ugh...
