Hi,
I just starting playing flute and I read the reviews about the Omnibus series by Trevor Wye so I took the advice and bought it through Amazon.com. I bought the package with the book 6 for $38.00.
I just got it the other day and I was so excited to start learning, but the first section is Tone and it doesn't show you how to play the notes. Am I missing something?? I thought it would've included a finger chart or something to show you how to play the notes. Then it talked about bugels or something, but it didn't explain what it was or how to do it.
PLEASE HELP!!!!

You can find fingering charts all over the place, including this website (go to "lessons" on the menu above.) The Trevor Wye books are really great, for flutists of any level, but they are meant to be used in conjunction with a teacher. As a beginner, you really need a teacher to explain how to play the instrument--you can't learn to play the flute all on your own.
Can you recommend another book
Thanks for responding.
Can you recommend another book for those that know the basics of playing flute? I played over 10 years ago and just picked it up again. I still remember how to play, but need a lot of training. I'm interested in a self-training book to help me remember the different techniques and note playing.

Wye Flute Books
Before getting into Wye's exercise books, you should first start out with Part One and Part Two of Wye's "Beginner's Book for the Flute." I think those books are more what you are looking for at this point. Look for the version that comes with a CD!
Re: Wye Flute Books
Thank you for your recommendations on the beginner's book. I'll look into the CD like you said.

If you can, get the one with accompanying CD. Really helps you distinguish the different tone colors.
other than that... congrats, you are sitting on a pot of gold.
