Baroque flute players, please help me!

A few days ago I purchased a beautiful brand new Aulos Stanesby Junior baroque flute, tuned to 415. Although this instrument is not hand made, it got very good reviews. Now here is my problem: I am a 67 yrs old flute student, and although I cannor call myself an accomplished flute player, I never had a problem in getting a decent sound from both my standard C flute and my alto flute.
But with my new baroque flute..oh my...I can' t get a decent sound out of it! It looks SO difficult to play (to me). Also, while some notes more or less come out, there are others that either do not sound at all or sound very weak, with low volume and lot of breath in the sound. Can someone help me with some good tips to improve? I have seen several flute players on youtube that can get a beautiful sound from my Aulos, so I believe that it's me, not the flute. Thank you in advance for your opinion!

Does your C flute have open holes? You may simply not be accustomed to covering holes with your fingers. My guess would be that you are not completely covering one or more of the holes of your baroque flute. Stand in front of a mirror or have a friend closely look while you play starting with B. Be sure that hole is covered completely. Then try A. As you cover the A tonehole, be sure that the B stays completely covered. Keep going down one note at a time while watching your fingers and listening to the sound. It's not uncommon for players new to open holes that when you cover the next hole one of your other fingers is slipping partially off the tonehole causing a leak which ruins the tone. The left hand ring finger (G) is a common culprit which will make it impossible to play lower notes like F, E, D,etc.

I do cover the holes properly, also the proof is that I get a weak sound even when I play a note that requires only the first two or three holes to be covered. I believe it is a matter of embouchure. My standard C flute embouchure just does not work with this baroque flute,, and I'd like to get some suggestions from forum members!

Baroque flutes typically have a very oval embouchure hole that requires a slightly different air stream, but most players can quickly adapt to it. Try playing just the headjoint alone to see if you can get a decent sound. Alternately cover and open the open end of the headjoint for different pitches.

If it still doesn't sound good, the headjoint cork may be leaking and need to be replaced. Also carefully inspect the headjoint for any cracks in the wood or chips in the embouchure hole.

I discovered a tip for detecting a leaky cork today;the suck test.
Cover the end of the head joint and try sucking out of the soundhole. If the cork is good there will be no air coming in through the cork and you feel the palm of your hand being sucked inwards.
