Lower Overtone

Post by daniela »

I was told by my teacher that I should listen to the "Lower
Overtone", a low-pitch, humming sound, when playing higher notes on the flute.
That should be a sign of a good-quality tone and is not audible when you play in
a group. What should I listen to when playing low tones? I do not hear any lower
overtones anymore. Thanks a bunch. Daniela

Low notes have higher overtones. They don't "hum" so
they're a little harder to hear, but you will find they "sound" high - and low.
I hope this helps...

Thanks. I can hear these higher tones. They only sound
clearly when I get a good tone. This helped. Thanks again. Daniela
