squirreling around the note
Lately I have been having trouble hitting the note. sometimes all goes well, and then all of a sudden I am under the note, above the note, or just plain in between. I have considered that it is because i am 70 years old and have heart and lung problems, but the question is--what can I do about it? Can anybody give e suggestions on how to return to hitting the note right on?

Re: squirreling around the note
While its possible that you could be the source of the problem, have you considered that your flute may have a problem? When was the last time that you had it checked or serviced? Even a tiny leak can cause enormous problems with playing notes correctly. Are you having problems with all notes or just certain ones? The answer to that question may give us a clue to the real problem.
"Never give a flute player a screwdriver."

Good on you 70yoflutist! I hope that when I am 70, 80 and 90, I will still be playing the flute and visiting the repair shop.70yroldflutist wrote:thanks . I am taking my flute to a repair shop tgomorrow. I hope that's all it is,
Have the repairs sorted out the playing?
I've also recently learnt of the Taiwanese Guo flutes which are VERY LIGHT and easy to play - they sound amazing too apparently and are easy to maintain with a quick wipe. No oiling required no tarnishing.
No I do not work for Guo.
