I've been a long time lurker and I guess it's my turn to make a post. I've played for more years than I'd like to admit and decided to return to college and finish my ed degree. It's been a long time since I've auditioned and I want to make sure I'm on the right track . The school indicates two stylistically different pieces of choice. Pretty generic. When making my appointment for scholarship audition, the professor simply said play what I'm comfortable with and not to worry about working up a new piece. So, input on the below for "appropriateness" would be much appreciated. Also, is there a general tempo or feel I should shoot towards? I assume a fast and slow combination, but not sure if that is applicable considering the style.
Hindemith Sonate - Any movement
C.P.E. Bach - Sonata A minor - Again, any movement.
These are my top choices, but I have a sizable repertoire that I can have polished in a couple weeks like Handel, Vivaldi, Telemann, Tulou, J.S. Bach etc.
