Hello, I recently picked up my flute again after a long time! Currently playing a piece with an upper D# harmonic but don't remember how to play this note. Can anyone help?
Do I play the D# and kinda push more air through or do I play the fifth note below (ie G#) and add air so that it is supposed to sound like D#?
Thanks.

Re: Harmonic notes
I believe the D# you are talking is played with the second harmonic, so you would use the normal D# fingering (i.e. pinky alone) and blow harder and with a slightly more focused embrasure. I had trouble clearly playing that note so it's understandable that you would have trouble playing it too.
Good luck.
