Bali Moods No. 1

Post by lollypops »

Hey!! I am playing the piece Bali Moods No.1 by Anne Boyd at the minute. But I don't what one of the techniques is! There is 2 dotted minims connected by there stems with 3 lines (like a demisemiquaver). Above this there is a [ except rotated 45 degrees to the right, with a dot in the middle. In the music instructions it says *tremolo gliss across all available harmonics, ascending and descending. So what exactly do I have to do here? Please Help IT IS URGENT!! Thanks

I haven't heard of this piece before, but I can guess what effect the composer wanted: Tremolo between the two notes as written, then overblow, producing higher harmonics while continuing to tremolo (and then back down again.) It's a pretty cool sounding effect--sounds very non-traditional. Maybe someone else who has studied this piece can tell us all how it's really done. :D
