Alternative fingering

Post by Agnes »

Can anyone tell me what's the alternative fingering
a) for quickly switching between D (natural) and E (natural) in the higher register.
b) quick switch from D natural to Csharp (middle register) and back to D natural or D natural to C natural and back. I know there is an alternative fingering for one of these. I had a flute teacher long time ago who showed me the fingerings but I forgot. Hope someone can help me with that.

For A) you might want to try just not using your right hand. Just lift your ring finger on the left hand to get the E. For B) just use the trill key that's between your first and second finger on your right hand.Neither of these will really sound as good as the traditional fingering, but they're useful for trilling and runs.
