I''m an Australian flute player, grade 6 AMEB. My teacher
recently told me that grade 6 will be one of the more technical grades,
double/triple tounging, etc. and I would like to learn vibrato and multiphonics.
I was wondering where to start with my multiphonics. I''m the highest grade at
our school in flute and no other flute players have even heard of this
technique, and my band teacher is a brass player and has no idea of flute
techniques, and in my private flute lessons I dont get a lot of time to do extra
stuff so I was wondering if anyone out there had any advice, thanx []

Multiphonics
my suggestion would be to look online for some advice on
extended techniques including mulitphonics. robert dick also has a book on
extended techniques, called the other flute, which goes into more depth on
extended techniques. i went to google.com and typed in multiphonics for flute,
and a number of different websites came up, take a look and see if that helps.
best of luck!
