IMO you are simply buying bling. From what I've heard, the bags are well made but offer no more protection for your flute than a $40 flute bag. The question should be is the look worth it to YOU?

Doh - now I'm fancying a flute bag although I really don't *NEED* one LOL

BTW, I have this one - which fits flute, piccolo, accessories, stands ... and even after 15 years is still as good as new!

ps. Now I'm curious ... what do people use to transport flute, music stand and sheet music? (Flute case above got put in cupboard as couldn't carry ALL in it), but now I have a bag that can hold flute (ish - it sits diagonally and pokes out the top), and my music but have to carry stand separately.

Honestly it depends on what you want. If you want something flashy and 'blinged-out' go for it. They're very well made. I however think that they are over-priced for what you get. If you are looking for a smart bargain in that general price range, go for the Altieri laptop bag. It's a bit more, but it comes in several colors and patterns. Carries a flute, piccolo, laptop, and tons of other things. They're built like tanks (I've seen some 20 years old that aren't even close to wearing out from daily use), and protect your instruments very very well. I just have the deluxe bag and I love it.
