Orchestra Audition Help

Post by piccolopalooza »

Hi, so I have auditions coming up for IMEA orchestra. One of the excerpts is the pines of Rome. I am wondering what the best way to go from a third octave d to g (32nd notes). The way it's written in the music, it is practically a trill between the two notes.

And if anyone has tips for the Pines of Rome, Nabucco Overture, Spanish Dance No. 1 - Manuel de Falla, or Polovetsian Dances - Borodin, it would be greatly appreciated.

If you are a member of NFA, you can get their back issues of the flutist quarterly. In 2007/2008 there was an article that had trick fingerings. Helped me win my audition on that excerpt. Sadly however I no longer have those articles laying around.

Perhaps you could try asking a meaningful question. What is it that you want help with?
