breathing and exhaustion

Post by Claiken »

should these 2 things be correllated? I find they are for me. sometimes, even if im having a horrible day & im exhausted, i do what I gotta do, and practise anyway. but I find on these days, i need to take way more breaths then normally.

is this a normal thing to happen? i find it especially during that time of the month (PMS week) for me. i just get downright exhausted during that time, which is right now. lol.

but! id rather be exhausted now than at audition time! so, ill take it! im just curious if its normal though.

There probably is a correlation between fatigue and the number of breaths you need to take. See, when you are playing your flute, you are actually [in a way] holding your breath even though you are constantly inhaling and exhaling. You are controling your breathing pattern. So, this will drain your body of a proper oxygen source and intake pattern, and will fatigue your system. So, if you are already tired, then it will take even more effort to put the same amount of energy into practice [because you will need to breathe more to sustain your system].

As for the PMS week.... I'm not qualified to answer that....

Sorry if that didnt make any sense. I tried.
