Does anyone know about financial support for junior flutist student who wants to take part in competition/showcase

I'm guessing the school doesn't finance anything towards it? Or have you checked to see if they'll provide for some of the cost? Point out that the school pays to send the athletic teams to away games.
Otherwise, I suppose if your junior student doesn't want to do odd jobs like mowing or babysitting or whatever to actually earn the money, you can always do like others and beg strangers for money on sites like GoFundMe.
