College Audition

Post by mariahmae32 »

I've been preparing for my undergraduate college auditon, but I'm stuck on picking a second work. I've been working on Mozart's Concerto in G, but I need another contrasting piece. I have a little over a month until my audition to prepare my second work, I was considering doing Bach Sonata for my second work, but I'm sure if they will be contrasting enough.
These are the requirements for my audition
Prepare one (1) standard work for flute such as:
Bach: Sonatas (any)
Mozart: Concerto (G or D)
Any works from the book “Flute Music by French Composers” (ed. by L. Moyse)
Hindemith: Sonata
Poulenc: Sonata
Prepare one (1) work of your choice. May be one movement from a selected piece.

For a more contrasting work, I'd suggest either the Poulenc and Hindemith Sonatas.

Whichever you like the most, regardless of difficulty.
