Has anyone here ever performed with a flute choir? Did you
enjoy it? Kim

Hello, I played in a flute choir for a couple of years (it
was run by a local flute teacher). Although it was mainly aimed at her students,
anyone could join. When I joined I was only doing my grade 3, and found playing
with others hugely beneficial and something that until then I'd not had to do.
I was also playing pieces that perhaps I wouldn't normally have picked up. Not
only that, I meant that I "had" to play for a couple of hours every week. We
used to only perform for parents evenings at the end of each term which was one
of the reasons I left ... I also play for a local orchestra which regularly
performs in local bandstands. HTH, Lucy

Thanks so much for the reply. My daughter will be
participating in a flute choir this fall. It sounds like it was a good
experience for you. I hope she can have an experience similiar to yours and be
able to play more challenging music in a group setting. Kim

I am going to start going to a flute choir in Jan.. It is
runned by my new flute teacher. She is a real good player so I don't think
I'll be bored. I'm excited about it though!

Lana~ Good luck with the flute choir. I hope you enjoy it.
I know my daughter is really looking forward to being in hers. As soon as I can
get my skills up again I am going to see if I can find one for local adults that
I can join too :) Kim

I absolutely love being in flute choirs, and I'm sure
your daughter will too. There's a whole other range of music available to
choirs that you are oblivious to when you just play by yourself. It's so much
fun to perform in front of others also when you're in a group. Not as much
pressure on yourself.
Cheers,
Emily

Yes, I performed this last semester with a flute choir and
actually played the alto flute... I did enjoy it... that experience will
introduce you to a new level of flute playing.... you will see piccolos, flutes,
alto flutes, and base flutes all together... it makes a beautiful sound... I
would recommend it [:)]

I perform with a flute choir of 8 at my church but it is
open to anyone and sometimes we play in a closed session of 3 at christmas and
important masses
