Piccolo and String Bass or Flute and String Bass

Post by vampav8trix »

Hi,

I am wondering if anyone has any ideas for a cool duet for these two instruments. I have seen a few string bass and flute or piccolo duets on flute world, but I have never heard them played. I haven't seen the printed music.

Has anyone played a good duet with a stringed bass?

I think my friend would accept a tuba part if it was mildly interesting.

Any suggestions would be great. 8)

What Genre and style are you looking for?

If you cannot find anything, maybe I can put something together for you...maybe

Hi,

I don't really care. I just want the students at school to do more duets. I haven't seen any of the students at the college playing duets. It seems as if nobody works on things together. It is very disappointing.

I am working on a music minor and a freshman plays stringed bass. (I think she is a performance major.) She would like to play with another musician. I am hoping to start something good here.

I know that she is interested in jazz. She plays bass in the wind ensemble. She is pretty good she says. I hope so. ( Is there any way to PM in this forum?) I like Latin Jazz, Jazz, modern and of all things baroque music.

She is willing to try anything. She is hoping for something more than a tuba part.

There are a couple of things on Flute world, but I have never heard of any of them. I would like to at least see a sample of the notation before I buy it. They tend to grade things lower than I think they should be graded.

I would be happy to premier something for you if you compose.

Thanks,

Lana
