Informal Audition for Community Band- music selection

Hi all.

I have an upcoming informal placement audition for my local community band. I am suppose to play a short piece that "best illustrates" my playing ability. I'm torn between two pieces that I have been working on.

1. 1st movement of the Widor Suite for flute. (I really like this movement but am afraid it is not technical enough)

2. Habanera and variations from the Carmen Fantasy by Borne. (my main concern is that this may be too flashy and not lyrical enough).

Any thoughts?
