Music Encyclopedia Project
Hello,
I have recently began a project to "hopefully" create the world best and largest music encyclopedia. I hope one day it be a reliable resource for both students and teachers to use. At the moment it is being created using wiki software by a small group of contributors. It is slowly growing and in due time will hopefully become a great source for everyone.
Please tell me what you think of it

Any suggestions for improvement will be very much appreciated, or if you would like to know more information just ask.
Regards,
MaestroX

That'a great idea!
Just out of curiosity though, what does this site offer that www.allmusic.com doesn't? It's also a comprehensive wiki.

I've never came across that site before.
The main focus of the encyclopedia is musicians and composers. If you look at some of the encyclopedia articles that are more complete such as the clarinet or oboe you can see that they aim to educate the reader in pitch range, technical difficulties etc
So this is what sets Music-Web's music encyclopedia apart. The encyclopedia is in its infancy but will hopefully be a great source for everyone in the future.

Yes it will be edited by anybody, but to stop wrong or inaccurate information being present in the encyclopedia we have a quality control team called: The Music-Web Music Encyclopedia Article Managment Team. They make regular check on all articles and check data is accurate and true. They also decide whether to promote an article to "featured article" status where then it will be published on affiliated sites.

looks great!!!
The site looks great - I like how you're keeping your sponsors more professional oriented. I'm a music teacher and I'd like to use this site for educational purposes - never ran across it before. I'd like to see more composers in the encyclopedia - keep up the good work and get some more pages up - I look forward to what you'll come up with...
Thanks very much, If you would like to keep involved with the goings on and the progress you can visit the encyclopedia forums, it would be great to have some more people involved.
Thanks for your suggestion of more composer pages. I will try focus the efforts over the next weeks on them. At the moment the main focus is instrument pages, take a look at the clarinet and oboe pages for examples.
Any suggestion are great, input fuels progress!
