most wicked flute recordings

Post by flutytooty91 »

Hey, I love hearing a good flute recording..but other than seeing Jethro Tull perform on TV..I haven't seen anything too far out. Does anyone have any flute videos(youtube) or recording that are awesome or just plain crazy? Thanks, flutytooty

Phineas- some good groups. The Japanese ladies-- were they part of an aerobics class?? there sure is lots of movement- is that kind of a style in Japan?? And Bill McBirnie proves the adage that you can hold a flute in a non traditional way and it still sounds great!!

In Japan, How things look is a major part of the culture. Somehow, I would think that they thought all of the movement made them look more appealing to the public. I think I would agree. WHo would you rather see in concert, James Taylor, or Earth Wind and Fire? EWF would be a much better show. All I can say is, you will be hard pressed to see a group in Japan the looks bad...lol

Yeah, old Bill Bernie. I like listening to him play. I would like to hear him do more cool jazz type tunes than he does though.

What the videos show is how there are so many different ways and styles to play flute. A person does not have to be in a box. Just play it. Some people play slow and pretty, some play classical style, some people play fast and hot! Yet, they are all great musicians!
