Leaving High School Band and Still Getting Music...

Post by BandSlave »

Wow, I never thought
I''d be so attached to band when graduating...my last day of high school is
May 29th and I''m so scared...I''m not able to major in music because my
school''s music school is, as my band director put it, "practically
non-existant." I''m really sad that I won''t be able to play in such a
band...probably ever again...if anyone knows of a site where I can get really
Challenging music for free please let me know! I''m kind-of short on money,
because I don''t have a job yet...so if anyone knows where I can get music,
I''d be forever in your debt! Please tell me, thank you!! -Abby

I dunno how
challenging you mean, but I've downloaded ALOT of free music off the internet.
This site has a few flute pieces http://www.u.arizona.edu/~jforster/flute.htm go
to http://www.freesheetmusicguide.com/ and follow links to get the flute music,
hope this helps a bit! [8)]

Thanks, I'll be
sure to go there, I've joined a summer band and I have music from that, but
it'll be great to have music to play during the school year! -Abby

I don't see why
you need to give up band. THere are community bands that you could participate
in wherever you go. Look around, 'cuz it makes me sad when people are forced to
sacrifice music for other things. If you are going to a four year university,
look at nearby community colleges because most of them have bands that are not
just for students and require a very minimal time commitment.(often, the units
are also transferrable) If not, there are summer band programs all over the
place, if you would rather be in a band than stick to solo playing only.
