sir james galway! it was amazing, i got his autograph..twice. once on my flute case and one on the program. it was the annual master class or whatever today and i actually got three hours of listening to his tips and beautiful playing and then autographs! it was amazing. i learned a lot and i really hope that it helps me.

Neat! I went to a concert of his, and got a few autographs [his and his wife's], and I got to speak to him for a few minutes. A very interesting guy.

James Galway

Post by rai »

Just gotta say that James Galway (excuse the lack of 'Sir') was the one person who inspired me to pick up a flute in 1975. He is an absolute 'hero' , my inspiration.. truly! I know that i certainly am not 'robinson crusoe' (aussie humor) In the seventies there were alot of hippies wandering about, dreaming away and tooting the flute.. Ok so i may sound a wee bit irreverant.. sorry  The thing is that this ol grey haired ex-hippie NEVER stopped (fluting that is!)
I understand that this is a forum with many many talented and academic musicians.. I shall speak from my heart.. and maybe waffle on a bit sometimes.... but i am here to listen learn and share with like minded folk.. If i can contribute or promote conversation that will inspire ...and be inspired... thats great. I say thankyou Sir James Galway for the many many who, over the years have been so inspired.. better get back to the books.. taking the year off to continue study (unfortuneatly it is practical future income stuff ) cheers :D
