What was it about your Global picc that swayed you versus the Emerson Boston Legacy?

Curious,

Don't get me wrong.....they are both wonderful piccolos. But for me I liked the ease of the upper register and the intonation was better fit for me on the global. That isn't to say that someone else wouldn't think the complete opposite. You just have to find the right fit for you. For me it was the global....for someone else it might be the legacy.

Also if you haven't ever tried a piccolo headjoint with the wave lip plate....you should definitely look into it. I absolutely love it. It just gives you a slightly more focused sound.

The wave lips will help direct the air for you, but they also tend to limit your options of tone color. It's a trade off, but personally, I would not play a wave lip given the choice between one and a traditional head.

That is of course your choice.....although I find that I get plenty of color and variety with mine. As always things are different for others.
