Yeah, an alto definitely wouldn't fit in that bag. I have to remove the case cover that came with mine to get it into my Altieri bag, and even then it's a relatively tight fit, though C flutes have plenty of extra room.flautists_r_us wrote:My dad has been in the music business for many years, so I trust his decision . We've been looking at gig bags for months and he thought that would be the best for what I needed. I have another bag to keep my stand, music, water bottles, my giant metronome , etc. I was thinking "bigger" like if I wanted a b-foot or even alto, though an alto might not fit....I don't know how big those cases are. Anyhow, thanks for your concern!

oh, ok. I thought an alto *might* fit because this bag seems pretty big (18x3.5x6, or something like that ) No matter, I'm sure it will suit my needs just fine. I need something for a school-band trip and I wanted something that could hold some money (shhhhhhhhh, don't tell anyone!) my phone, a tuner/metronome, marching music, lyre, flip folder, etc.

OK, so I have had this case since Thursday and it seems to be working fine. I just got a lyre/flip folder cuz we'll be marching Friday at Six Flags (4 those of you that know what it is). I can get it in the case but It's a fairly tight fit. I think I could make it fit easliy if I put it in a different pocket though... Anywho, it seems to work and it's not too bulky. I could probably even fit my stand in it if I had too.
