If it's a private lesson, aren't they
there to help? What I would do is sit back and sip a cold slurpee or eat some
ice cream, ake sure your mouth gets cold use ice if you have to, then move your
mouth around a lot and then when your mouth isnt cold anymore try to play your
flute, start low practice vibrato adn when your sound is good move higher until
your notes sound good again, if you still want to learn piccolo bring it to your
lesson and/or find another person who plays piccolo and flute good luck i hope
that works

Strange how we are all different. Some
people play the piccolo and it helps fine tune their embochure and others like
poor Sam just get their mouth all puckered out of shape. Good luck[:praise:]

I first played piccolo about a year ago
and had a similar incident to Sam's. I found my flute playing was too important
so I waited until I had formed a definate embochure on my flute before I touched
one again. Now I am doubling piccolo and I can keep a good sound on both, maybe
you should just wait until your playing has formed. If you decide to keep
playing, you should practice flute as much as piccolo one after the other so you
get used to switching. [8)]
