Hello, everyone. I'm an old lady (almost 37! ), trying to accomplish a lifelong dream of teaching myself to play the flute. I bought an instrument about five years ago, and I'm ashamed to say that my lack of self-discipline has kept me from progressing much. But lately I've been a bit more strict with myself, and I am now trying to make practice an everyday habit.
Anyway, I'm wondering if some of you could tell me where to find free (or cheap downloadable) sheet music for flute. I've found several sites in the past, but I sure would like to hear your opinions on the subject, and perhaps find some links to a few good sheet music websites.
Thanks!

Just a quick google, but most of these sites, are limited with contents or have cut pieces. But is a good start. I'm sure other members will post up better sites. Hope this helps a little. I'm currently working on transcribed work myself to post up free for the flute only and will be free to download depending on host sites.

I would give those a good try. But, I also recommend looking into purchasing a few books of music. http://www.fluteworld.com is great for that kind of thing. They should have any kind of music you are interested in.
Music
www.whistlethis.com (short Irish pieces with MP3 files to show you how they're played).
Google "O'Carolan".
There's a guy on E-bay selling downloadable sheet music books inexpensively for many different instruments. I think he had a "buy 2 get one free special", but I'm not sure. They're all electronically downloaded. They seem to offer many shorter pieces that won't intimidate a beginner or demand too much time from an adult.
Google "Tin Whistle music".
Google "Public Domain Christmas Music".
Just some ideas.
