Key mechanisms?

Does anyone know how the key mechansims in the flute work, specificaly the spring? If you know of a website about it, that would be awsome, cuz i need this for a research project (need a source to cite!).

If this is for a research paper for a class, I would recommend interviewing a local instrument repair tech. They usually know pretty well what is going on, and I know from experience that teachers love it when you site an interview that you set up with a professional as a source.
