I've read somewhere that when Gemeinhardt changed the pitch of their flutes they just shortened the instrument and didn't adjust the tone holes to suit the new length. If this is true can anyone say the date that happened? If not true I'd like to know that too. I've recently compared a late sixties Gemeinhardt to one made in the mid nineties and and the earlier one is about an eight of an inch to three sixteenths longer.
