The Armstrong Emeritus flute was made and sold in the mid-60s. It is a solid sterling silver flute (headjoint, body, and keys). I believe that it may have been available in either open or closed hole models and pointed keys were an option. It was produced by a small subdivision of Armstrong that built custom handmade flutes to compete with other high-end flutes like Haynes. It was a pretty good flute for its time.

I can't compare it to the Gemeinhardt without the model number, but personally I tend to prefer Armstrong. You best bet though is to try them and see which you like. I'd also suggest trying some others too.
