Got a TASCAM digital recorder,,NOW what

I got a Tascam DR-07 to record my flute playing primarily for critique, and I don't know but maybe more

It record beautifully,,What kind of software would you guys recomend for editing and cataloging,,,nothing real expensive

And Any tips would be appreciated

Tascam makes some really nice units. I have the DR-1 and love it.

For audio editing software, its hard to beat Audacity. It's full featured and best of all FREE.

I COMPLETELY recommend using Audacity. In my Electronic Music course that I am taking, Audacity was one that we covered. It's awesome. It does things that Garageband, and so many other software programs can't do.

When I do recordings of myself, I use a Zoom H2 recorder, I then import it to Audacity, normalize it (max. volume without clipping the sound **maxing out speakers**), import it to Garageband, and then do affects to enhance the audio quality.

Thanks fluteguy do you know there is something wrong with your blog,,,you can't leave comments, it allows you to write them, asks you to copy some series of letters, but doesn't give you a place to do it or an accept/enter button,,,,,,,,,,just fyi

Thanks for the Audacity tips,,I have to learn how to play with it, will be experimenting tonight

I thought the same thing at first. The field to type-in is in a area that can't be seen initially because it is overlaid with some other part of the page. If you press the TAB key a time or two, the field will "magically" appear. At least that's what worked for me to leave a comment.

I didn't know that. It's either a problem with Blogger, or with the html code. I will try editing the code (I do a bit of webdesign... but the background wasn't a design of my own).

Ultimately, you just have to scroll down within the window or hit "Tab."
