Has anyone ever noticed how unconvient it is to play the
flute during band? I either have to put my flute slighty forward and annoy the
person right of me or turn so that i''m almost facing the back. Most
unfair...lol

Yes, I think it can definitely be a challenge to get
comfortable in band. I think that almost all flutes have had similar experiences
with surrounding flutes in band!!!

OMG IT IS! My band is so large in a very VERY small room. We
have like 25 flutes in a band of like 70 and and the room is TEEEENY

Oh the old be fair to everyone but actually screw everyone
philosophy No Band director worth their music stand would allow 25 flutes in one
band but hey at least your school as a band some schools had their bands closed

we have like nearly 200 people in seventh grade bade alone,
and 650 altogether so we have to fit a lot of people in the band room too... we
have about 20 flutes. oh yeah.. same with me.. everyone is allowed in as long as
they are serious and wont hurt the band

Oh, definitely! [:)] I'm in a couple of bands/orchestra and
I feel your pain, I really do [:p] Although in band I'm first flute so I sit on
end of the row- t'is much better, although it does mean the audience can hear
my mistakes [:knockout:]
..for
as long as i have music, as long as there''s a song for me to sing, i can find
my way, i can see a brighter day, the music in my life will set my spirit
free..

The size of my band is about the same as yours 185 people
about. And the amound of flutes are about 25. Everyone is allowed to be in band
as long as they don't fool around. It used to be more but since then people
have quit.

yes!!!!! i'm in a few bands and i always have that problem!
i put my flute behind the person on my right, but everyone else puts theirs in
front. thank god i'm first flute...there's an oboe next to me. actually, i
solved the probem when i was 2nd flute. anyone who got too close or tried to
share a stand when it was unneeded, i called them a communist.
