Came across a cool vintage flute today

Beautiful flute but I'm unfamiliar with the maker. It reads Ross and Rudy , New York #132

When I grew up, my father's flute was a Ross and Rudy, so I learned to play on that as well as the school rentals. It was silver plated, closed hole, c foot - might have had the French style in line a keys, I can't remember. It had a low number like yours, in the 100's. It was stolen in Mexico in the 70's. It was a 'stencil" flute, I don't know the manufacturer, but my father knew either Ross or Rudy as a flute teacher in the 20's or 30's. The other probably owned a music store. I found you post because every once in a while I search for the stolen flute or one like it on Google. It played very well for a "student" flute, I think.

Ross was my grandfather, Michael Ross. His partner was Gerald Rudy. Granddaddy was a classical, professional musician, well known and respected in New York and Boston. They owned the Ross & Rudy Woodwind Shop, servicing flutes and woodwinds in NY.

They produced five models. I wish I knew how to upload a JPG or PDF. I'd display their brochure with complete descriptions and cost for each.
