Hi everyone,
I study music at The University of Melbourne, Australia, and just yesterday I was talking to a fellow flautist (a few years older than me and half way done with her course) whom told me that she teaches basic flute on the side as a way to earn money.
I thought about this as an option for me, and I feel like it would be valuable to try to start teaching beginner flute/theory to enhance my knowledge as teaching is a learning curve; to earn some money; and to do something I will no doubt do throughout my life.
So, I was just wondering if there are any flute teachers on here that could give me a few tips on how to start getting into teaching?
How do I teach basic music reading to people who have no idea? What should I have them play? etc.
Thanks in advance.
