Are there any other people who like writing for flute here ? It always sounds much better in software than most other instruments.

I arrange for flute (as opposed to actually compose).
It's funny you comment that flute sounds better digital. I've never found a digital keyboard with anything better than a rather poor flute sound. Nor have I been very enamored of the midi-playback of flute songs online. Strings, sure and they sound perfect. Reeds seem to fare pretty well. Even most brass come off fairly acceptable with a little turning of a deafish ear. Dunno why flute sounds so cruddy. Even my church's higher-end Kurzweil keyboard sux with the flutes. Then again, I've yet to hear a decent synthetic handbell, either....
