What kind of flutes do you own?

Post by abateau1 »

I have a Gemeinhardt M2 silver, a Muramatsu EXII, an Altus 1007 and a Haynes Q2. I'm a beginner but I love the differences in tone and playability in each flute. I originally owned a cheap Gemeinhardt and a Yamaha 221 but sold them for the Muramatsu.

My main flute is a Muramatsu AD but I have a Pearl and Armstrong for backup.

I am requesting assistance in identifying the model of a piccolo that I have owned for at least 44 years (therefore manufactured prior to ~1971). It appears to be silver, or silver plated. On the head receiver of the barrel are the following inscriptions:
<...C...>
MFD BY
Gemeinhardt (in script)
-inc-
Elkhart, Ind.
9679

Please help me identify the composition and model, and any history regarding this piece. It would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

There is no easy answer. Some flutes do not have a model imprinted.
